Can Sydney’s CBD take another steak restaurant? When it’s Grill Americano Sydney, it can. The new outpost of Melbourne’s Venetian steakhouse, in the heritage Qantas House, has a 30-metre marble bar, 170 seats, and grand chandeliers (Mitchell & Eades designed the space). The menu’s bigger, too, with 15 cuts of steak, house-made pastas, a 10,000-bottle wine list – and buffalo mozzarella flown in daily from Italy. Cin cin! |

Known as the Fabergé of footwear, Roger Vivier began using the rose in the 1950s (when he also invented the stiletto for Christian Dior). Luxury cruise line Ponant has just announced a new voyage for September 2026 – Made In Italy: The Luxury Edition. Starting in the Tuscan port of Livorno, it voyages through Florence, Capri and Venice. There are visits to the Gucci archives and Palazzo Gucci, the historic Ginori 1735 ceramic workshops, and Bottega Veneta’s Venetian residence Palazzo Van Axel, in a true celebration of heritage Italian design houses.
